Perranporth Beach Today 25/01/2018

Beautiful walk on the beach at Perranporth today with Freddie my dog between the showers. The wind was blowing the sea spray hundreds of yards producing a lovely haze across the sea and beach. Perfect weather for a Photography Workshop.

St Ives between the showers yesterday.

St Ives was looking beautiful between showers yesterday. Still a few signs of the storms earlier this month. Cornwall is fantastic for photography workshops any time of the year. Book your workshop now.

Upton Towans Phantom 4 Pro Drone Images

Something different to the images I usually post on this section. These images were taken with my DJI Phantom 4Pro drone at about 300ft above sea level. The light was beautiful this evening just before the sunset.  Some of the images taken directly towards the sun suffer from lens flare, […]

Reconnaissance trip to Mevagissey and Charlestown

Beautiful cold weather today so I took Alison my wife on a reconnaissance trip to Mevagissey to look for new locations. We found a good bar for lunch and had a walk round the harbour.  Plain blue skies are a little boring for good landscape images, but they are better […]

Hayle Beach 5th January 2018

After the storms of the last few weeks the weather has  greatly improved. No wind or rain today, just the devastation left from the storms. The beach now looks very different with new high sand cliffs and tons of rubbish, fence posts, wire and wood on the beach.

More storm Eleanor damage at Perranporth

Today  I went to Perranporth to see storm Eleanor damage. England’s only pub on a beach “The Watering Hole” just survived the storm with only feet to spare. But two bridges over the river weren’t so lucky. Not that one of the bridges does anything as the river has moved […]

Storm Eleanor today 3rd January 2018

The power of storm Eleanor has wrecked a few places down here last night. St Ives had bad flooding and Porthminster Gellery had its doors destroyed and the building flooded. At Portreath the harbour wall was destroyed near to the Waterfront Inn.

Here are a few of my images at Godrevy […]

Nikon D850 is a game changer.

My new Nikon D850 which has been on order for months arrived just before Christmas. This is the best Nikon DSLR they have made to date.  It has been receiving brilliant reviews since it was announced in August. Unfortunately I was a bit late ordering mine and ended up having […]

Clouds spoil moon shots plan.

Last night was the largest full moon of 2018. Hours of planning for the ideal location was wasted as the clouds had other ideas. The moon should have risen right from below St Michael’s Mount  surrounding the Chapel and house with a giant moon.  Low cloud in the wrong place […]
